Photo Printing FAQ

[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”30″][toggles][toggle title=”Gloss or Matte?” color=”Default”][vc_column_text]

This is realy just a matter of preference. There are a couple of things you can consider. Gloss prints are much more susceptable to finger prints, so this finsih may not be the best choice if you will be handling the prints. Not all print sizes are available in Gloss. Our “matte” is more of a “semi-gloss” or “lustre” not a true matte finish.

[/vc_column_text][/toggle][toggle title=”How long will my prints take?” color=”Default”][vc_column_text]

Once you have submitted your order everything should move quite quickly. The larger your order is, the longer it will take to process. If you have only a few photos it may only take a few minutes. If you have submitted hundreds of photos it could take up to an hour.If there are other orders ahead of yours, this will increase your wait time.Just ask us how long when you are handing in your reciept and will give you an estimate and let you know if there are other orders being processed ahead of your.

[/vc_column_text][/toggle][toggle title=”Can I print from Facebook?” color=”Default”][vc_column_text]

Yes. Yes you can.If you are using our newest Kiosk it will allow you to log into your Facebook account and choose photos from your albums there.

[/vc_column_text][/toggle][toggle title=”What about my phone?” color=”Default”][vc_column_text]

It will depend on your phone. Our newest kiosk allows you to connect wirelessly from iPhones and Android devices using the Kodak Connect App (available through the links below). The Kiosk will give you links to the app and show you instructions to help get you connected.Download the Kodak app for Apple iOs or Android.
If you have a phone that does not work with the Kodak App it may still be possible to print your photos. If your phone has a removable media card you can remove it and print from the card. Some phones can connect via USB cables but this will only work with certain devices. Sometimes trial and error is the only way to know.If we aren’t too busy we are always happy to help out.

[/vc_column_text][/toggle][toggle title=”Why is my image cropped?” color=”Default”][vc_column_text]

The most common print size for photos is 10×15 cm (4×6 in) this size has an aspect ratio of 3:2 yet most digital cameras take images with an aspect ratio of 4:3 which means there is going to be some cropping. If you would like a size that will print your whole photo frame you can consider a 15x20cm (6×8 in) print. This size is also a 4:3 aspect ratio and is a common photo size.

[/vc_column_text][/toggle][toggle title=”What is the standard photo size?” color=”Default”][vc_column_text]

Media Recovery

Losing all your photos can be a painful experience, specially when you have been traveling for weeks. Things aren’t always lost though. Due to the process of recording and erasing on digital media, often times your images can be rescued.

If you have accidentally erased your card, stop using it immediately. If you have a spare camera card start using it, if you do not you should stop taking photos. The more you continue to use your card the less likely we will be able to recover your images.

The process for recovery, which if succesful may often times bring back images you have erased long ago, takes upwards of 45 minutes. If we are able to recover any images they will be transfered to seperate media, either a CD DVD or thumb drive depending on the space required. We will then instruct you on how to reformat your card for further use.

If your images cannot be recovered there is no charge for the service.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”30″]

Media Backups

Our kiosks are not set up to backup your photos to cd or dvd. This has proven to be an unreliable method in the past so we have disabled the option. If you would like your photos transfered to a dvd, flash drive or portable hard drive, please ask it is a service we offer and we would be happy to help.

This service can sometimes be time consuming depending on the amount and size of photos, the transfer rate of your media and the end output. Burning your images to a disk or tranfering your media to an exteranal drive can take time, please be patient.
